Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie Flirt with Fame,Heated Rivalry Stars Media Craze Case Study
A tale as old as time, a book adaptation captures the hearts of television enthusiasts and book readers alike. Yet, this twist of fate has left these two underground actors with a lot more women - and men - fawning over them than was to be expected, given the release of the television series, Heated Rivalry, and its production value. It was the press tour for Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams that reversed the notorious “rise and fall to fame” and made people still think about them nearly four months later.
At the end of November in 2025, the roughly 11 million Canadian dollar production of the queer hockey romance was released on HBO Max by the Canadian television network Crave. Storrie and Williams had a backdrop and a dream at their Canada premiere, only to be met with instant gratification from their reader fanbase. As the episodes rolled out weekly, more and more people were raving about the show on the social media platform, TikTok. This led their follower count to jump by about 110,000 followers. While their steamy, on-screen romance built as the series continued, so did the parasocial relationship with their fans that grew through interviewers like GQ’s “Friendship Quiz” and separate podcast episode appearances where they divulged their connection as co-stars. The more appearances together, the more it flocked a whole new demographic of viewership. And the series finale closed out in December 2025, the fun was just starting for the two actors.
Making their “Late Night” debuts in early January 2026, Williams and Storrie emulated joyful humility that kept them booked and busy for the months to come. From dropping fame- alluding jokes as they presented at the 83rd Golden Globes to opening the Winter Olympics torch ceremony as the first torch bearers of the night in Italy, the boys entranced their audience like no other. Additionally, each had their own separate press tour through New York City when Storrie hosted NBC’s “Saturday Night Live" - with a special appearance by Williams - and in Paris Fashion Week, as the media was swept off their feet by a smoking Williams as a new partner of Balenciaga.
“The internet simply can’t get enough of ‘Heated Rivalry’ stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie,” according to Rolling Stones magazine, and now every girl is going to a hockey game asking, “When are they going to kiss?” and major cities are holding “Heated Rivalry Raves” throughout April 2026. Where now, the male leads are still making people think, “how am I still talking about them?” and building both their repertoire of new roles in major film productions and anticipation for the next season of Heated Rivalry to start next year.
